SEDD releases third version of Sharjah Industrial Guide 2022

Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” issued the Third version of Sharjah Industrial Guide of 2022. This comes as art of its strategic plan to contribute to planning and leading comprehensive economic development in the emirate and improving services provided to customers and strategic partners. Also, it comes as part of its plan to develop the industrial sector and simplify its procedures in Sharjah, due to the industrial base that the emirate has that is considered the largest in the country and the region. IT should be noted that this Guide was accomplished with a help of number of local and federal government agencies, which have contributed to updating it.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stressed that the launch of the third edition of the Sharjah Industrial Guide comes from the economic visions adopted by the Department that is leadership in sustainable economic development. Likewise, it implements the wise directives of Sharjah Executive Council to work on developing the industrial sector and simplifying and clarifying its procedures with the participation of local and federal authorities concerned in the industrial sector. In addition, it embody SEDD’s vision of leadership in achieving comprehensive development to achieve a diversified, competitive and innovative knowledge-based economy, in order to ensure an encouraging and stimulating business environment for work and investment based on achieving economic prosperity in Sharjah.

HE pointed out that the new release of the Guide came to achieve the economic well-being of the emirate. This is done by raising the level of work, improving performance and developing it, and facilitating procedures related to providing services related to industrial affairs in accordance with the best international standards in terms of ease and clarity and within the framework of continuous work to raise the level of performance of government institutions.

Furthermore, HE added that the updated version of Sharjah Industrial Guide includes the procedures and services of the entities related to the industrial sector, which aims to attract investment in the emirate, in addition to facilitating the investor to know the steps for issuing an industrial license.

From her side, Mariam Nasir Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs Department at SEDD, said that the Department has completed the new version of the Guide to implement its strategic plan to contribute to planning and leading comprehensive economic development. She added that the Guide is considered a quantum leap in providing information and data on industrial establishments. This contributes to the development of the industrial sector and the simplification of its procedures, as Sharjah has an industrial base that is the largest at the level of the country and the region, whereas it is a major reference for industrial activity in the emirate.

Moreover, she added that the issuance of the Guide will reflect positively on the development and future planning of infrastructure projects and the provision of services for industrial projects. She illustrated that government and private agencies are working to benefit from specialized data and information in order to develop plans and programs and direct future policies to provide better services to all sectors in Sharjah.
