SEDD renews “Eitimad” Licenses through SMS
In accordance with Sharjah Government’s vision to create an integrated digital environment and to support the process of intelligent transformation, Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” continues to develop its electronic and smart services by launching number of quality services aimed at expanding the use of SEDD services.
Thus, SEDD launched “Eitimad” license renewal through SMS, which allows the renewal of “Eitimad" by text message through the number 2762, by sending a renewal word followed by renewal years up to a maximum of three years, and the license number. When the process is completed successfully, a text message is sent to the customer to complete the payment process without having to register any data.
Commenting on this, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stated that the Department works according to the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the continuous pursuit of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, to provide the needed human, technical and financial cadres. In addition, it is done to introduce all new electronic services aimed at improving procedures on dealers to get to the application of the concept of smart government. HE added that the provision of services and procedures in a digital way provides a lot of time and effort to the customers. Likely it helps to provide innovative services that will delight the dealers in line with the vision of the Emirate in providing the best services adapted to the requirements of the knowledge-based economy as well as to support national enterprises, to provide a digital structure supportive of business and investment in Sharjah.
Furthermore, HE pointed out that the Department made significant improvements recently. Such improvements included the provision of many services and electronic as well as intelligent systems. It is done in order to facilitate and accelerate the service provided in line with the transformation of its services to digital services 100%. It should be noted that the number of e-services reached 148 services on the website. Also, the number of smart services reached 49 ones, in addition to the e-linking with more than 38 entities in order to simplify procedures for investors.
From his side, Fahad Al Khamiri, Director of Registration and Licensing Department at SEDD, stated that the digital services, such as the SMS service, is considered a qualitative step in improving the performance of the Department and ensuring the ease, speed and efficiency of completing the procedures through the website or smart application. Similarly, this transformation goes in line with SEDD’s objectives to create an attractive and encouraging investment environment for the growth and success of the business. In addition, the Department adopts such a thing to apply its vision of building a competitive and diversified competitive economy.
In addition, Al Khamiri added that SEDD seeks continuously to enhance excellence in services in different areas. He carried on SEDD paid attention to promote the concept of digital transformation by providing all its services to digital customers, in order to reach the best solutions and innovative mechanisms for speed and accuracy in the completion of transactions.
Moreover, Al Kamiri called investors to take advantage of the services provided through SEDD website or its smart applications to complete their transactions. He added that all the procedures that can be accomplished through these channels, do not require visiting the Department. Likely, he emphasized that the launch of such services falls within SEDD’s digital transformation objective, which aims to facilitate procedures, reduce the waiting time and provide excellent services. Such object aims to meet the expectations of customers as well as to attain more opportunities and options for the completion of transactions.
