License Issuance

This service allows entrepreneurs and investors to issue an economic license to conduct commercial, professional, industrial, electronic or other activities.

  1. Prerequisites: Investor must issue a trade name, complete the technical evaluation, and refer to Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) to pay the electricity deposit and lease contract attestation fees (for non-owned licenses), in addition to completing the legal contracts in the legal form.

  2. Registration and Login: Investor must register on the Department's website via UAE Pass.

  3. Selecting “License Issuance” Service: Investor must attach the required documents and approvals from external parties.

  4. Reviewing and Submitting Application: Investor must review the data and ensures its accuracy before submitting the application.

  5. Notifications and Approvals: Investor will receive an SMS confirming receipt of the application. Messages are also sent to other investors to complete the approval process via UAE Pass.

  6. Payment and License Issuance: A payment voucher is issued, and the license is sent automatically after successful payment of the fees.

  7. Notes: The license must be renewed upon expiry. Failure to renew within the specified period will result in a late fee of AED 200 monthly.

Licensing Section Fees
•    License issuance fees are calculated at 8% of the lease contract value or area for citizens, with a minimum of AED 800. On the other hand, license issuance fees are calculated at 13% of the lease contract value or area for nationalities from other countries, with a minimum of AED 1300.
•    Permit fees for placing trade name signboard: AED 200
•    Issuing commercial register certificate (AED 500 for Sole Proprietorship licenses/ AED 1200 for industrial licenses)
•    Printing: AED 300
•    E-services: AED 100
•    Representative Card: AED 300
Other Related Fees
•    Technical Evaluation: AED 150
Legal Affairs Department Fees (depending on legal form)
•    Certifying Service Agent Contract: AED 550 
•    Certifying Civil Company Contract: AED 550 
•    Certifying contract or appendix with value less than AED 50,000. Required fees: AED 200 for the signature of each party of contract or appendix. 
•    Certifying contract or appendix with value less than AED 50,000 or not more than AED 100,000. Required fees: AED 300 for the signature of each party of contract or appendix.
•    Certifying contract or appendix with value exceeding AED 100,000. Required fees: 0.5% of contract or appendix value, up to a maximum of AED 15,000. 
•    Certifying unlimited value contract or appendix. Required fees: AED 200 for the signature of each party of contract or appendix. 
Third Party Fees
•    Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry fees
•    Fees of other entities related to the licensing process (depending on the activity)
 

•    Registering investors (company or individual) if a license has not been previously issued.
•    Issuing trade name.
•    Technical evaluation (Commercial Control and Protection Department).
•    Service agent contract (Legal Affairs Department).
•    Referring to Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority to pay electricity insurance and lease contract certification fees.
•    Approvals from other parties depending on the activity.
