License Amendment

License Amendment is either a waiver or partner entry, changing the activity, or amending a trade name. Such a procedure is carried out into two stages or steps which are the initial and the final approvals.

 

  1. Fill in license form.
  2. Apply for initial amendment request.
  3. Obtain trade name amendment certificate.
  4. Follow-up request with Legal Affairs Department.
  5. Obtaining final request.
  6. Amendment termination.

    Investor should fill in license form with the data to be amended related to trade name (print the form).

  • Details of Procedures

    1. Submit license form to the concerned employee at the Trade Names Section in order to enter the data to be modified.
    2. Investor, or his/her representatives, should head to the Inspection or Legal Affairs Sections to complete transactions according to the needed amendment.

    • Copy of investor's valid passport, as well as national ID and residence for foreigner.
    • Certified No Objection Letter for non-investors.
    • Approvals from official authorities if necessary depending on business nature.

    • Initial approval from Trade Names Section.
    • Fill in Legal Affairs Form.
    • Personal presence of concerned parties or their legal representatives to sign Legal Affairs form.
    • Amendment Announcement of AED 350 (fees table).
    • In case of objection, the objector should pay AED 100.
    • Trade Name and activity amendment: General Partnership Company or Limited Liability Company:
    • Initial approval from Trade Names Section.
    • Fill in Legal Affairs Form.
    • Personal presence of concerned parties or their legal representatives to sign Legal Affairs form.
    • Memorandum of Association attested by the Notary Public
    • Amendment Announcement of AED 350 (fees table). 

  • 4. Follow-up request with Legal Affairs Department.

    2. After the completion of payment procedures, license and register certificates are issued.

    • Copy of valid passport and ID for partners, certified No objection Letter for non-investors in case of partner addition.
    • Investor licenses statement, if available.
    • Approvals from official authorities if necessary depending on business nature.
    • Declaration from the Notary Public or Commercial Legal Affairs Section (waiver, partner entry, trade name amendment).
    • Technical evaluation report if the amendment includes (changing the site, adding an activity, cancelling an activity).
    • Certified copy of lease contract and title deed.
