Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” received Sharjah City Municipality to discuss means of cooperation, exchange experiences and promote mutual work between the two parties. The meeting was held due to the concerns of strengthening work with all government entities to serve the public interest of Sharjah.

HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, and number of directors and managers from the Department received HE Obaid Saeed Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, who was accompanied by number of officials. The two sides discussed many common issues that are in the public interest, as they exchanged ideas on some of the procedures followed. Also, the Municipality’s delegation looked into structure and work strategy used in common areas, in addition to the latest technologies and solutions used in the Department. Likely, the two parties discussed common matters, mechanisms, and ways to enhance this cooperation in order to provide all capabilities to the business sector, investors and customers, and to contribute to achieving sustainable economic development to serve all sectors in Sharjah in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership in the emirate.

Commenting on that, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stressed on the Department’s concerns to enhance its constructive cooperation with the Municipality. HE noted to the level of cooperation between the two sides in several areas, including working teams and committees that work to unify and integrate the efforts of the two sides in line with the economic development that Sharjah is witnessing and that serves the comprehensive and sustainable development agenda. Likely, HE stressed that such cooperation has a remarkable results that reflected of their integrated efforts.

Al Suwaidi added that SEDD is moving forward in the development process in accordance with the vision of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims at human development and providing all means of service and comfort as the basis of renaissance. Also, he pointed out that Sharjah’s Economy is constantly seeking to identify the best applicable practices and solutions.

On the other hand, HE Obaid Saeed Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality, emphasized on the importance of cooperation and coordination with SEDD to develop services provided to citizens and residents in the emirate. This fall within the concerns to implement the directives of wise leadership to simplify and enhance the services provided by government entities in a way that enhances tourism, investment and residential attractions and its role in providing an environment conducive to investment as well as in  offering all the necessary facilities.

Furthermore, Al Tunaiji pointed out that the Municipality works with all government agencies, institutions and bodies to provide the best services that reflect the emirate's position as a global city that provides the best and finest services in all aspects.

Moreover, Al Tunaiji praised the continuous cooperation SEDD. He also stressed on the importance of holding such meetings between the two sides for its role in promoting ways of encouraging and attracting investments to take advantage of the opportunities available in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as developing and simplifying services and upgrading them to the highest levels.
