SEDD receives General Secretariat of Sharjah Executive Council

HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD”, received a delegation from the General Secretariat of Sharjah Executive Council, in order to enhance means of cooperation and coordination between them to enhance government work and attract investment in the emirate. Such meeting was held due to the concerns of both parties to contribute constructively to achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah through the optimal use of human and technical resources and the provision of all services and their simplification for investors. The delegation included HE Asma Rashid Bin Taliah, Secretary General of Sharjah Executive Council, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Digital Office, and other officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE Sultan bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, greeted the delegation and stressed on the importance of holding such meetings, which would enhance cooperation and coordination to contribute to achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah.  

HE added that SEDD is inspired by the vision and thought of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whereas its goals are consistent with UAE vision.  The Department aims through such thing to become one of the best cities at the regional and international levels in responding to the economic changes taking place in the local arena, which require close cooperation between concerned ones from government agencies. All of this is done in order to keep pace with developments and establish a community communication system and infrastructure according to the highest levels of efficiency, which contributes to building a sustainable business environment in the emirate.

Likely, HE said that the Department succeeded in developing standards for the efficiency of its services and bringing them to the highest levels, with the aim of achieving its mission and vision in attaining sustainable economic development and quality in practices.

Also, HE stressed that the Department is constantly seeking to ensure that the best services are provided to its customers, in accordance with the highest standards of quality and efficiency, through its service centers. He pointed out that SEDD is constantly working on developing work in its centers and offices across the emirate. This helps to accelerate process of completing customer requests, and modernize the service delivery systems as well as raise their levels, in order to achieve the best possible service for customers and in application of the standards of Customer Charter, which contributes to achieving customer satisfaction.

Additionally, SEDD praised the directives and pursuit of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of SEC. The Department also reviewed the most important improvements in the processes, procedures and tools in order to reach leadership in the quality of service provided to customers. Through the presentation, SEDD confirmed its constant enthusiasm to study the economic conditions and follow them directly through direct communication with investors in order to highlight the obstacles they may face and overcome them, as well as to measure their satisfaction to transactions. The presentation also dealt with the initiatives offered by SEDD to investors to motivate them to expand their projects and achieve their sustainability and to attract more investors to Sharjah.

Furthermore, SEDD achievements and investment over the past years in establishing an advanced digital infrastructure were also noted. This contributed to maintaining the functioning of business and services in these exceptional circumstances. The percentage of SEDD digital transformation was also discussed that reached 100%, as the Department provides 107 digital services that benefit investors, government and private sectors, and strategic partners. It should be noted that the Department provides a number of its services through “Digital Sharjah” platform. Such thing will simplify the procedures for investors, and provide many channels to complete transactions as quickly as possible in order to serve the local economy, enhance the movement of investments, and achieve sustainable economic development in the emirate. SEDD also seeks continuously to activate e-linking with all relevant government agencies to facilitate procedures for investors, which contributes greatly to attracting investment in order to achieve the Department’s vision of leadership in comprehensive development to attain a diversified, competitive and innovative knowledge-based economy.

Moreover, SEDD praised the efforts of the General Secretariat of Sharjah Executive Council in ensuring coordination with all parties to develop the work mechanism and achieve a great return in performance of institutions in a manner that meets the needs of all society members.
