With 96.5% Activate Licenses
SEDD issues 1171 “Eitimad” Licenses
Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” announced that the number of issued “Eitimad” domestic licenses reached 1171 from the launch of this license, including more than 1130 activate licenses by 96.5%. This percentage included 22 “Eitimad” licenses that shifted to commercial ones by 1.9%.
According to SEDD statistics, the most important activities, which shifted to commercial licenses from “Eitimad”, included 23% in Fashion, 14% in food products, 13% in perfumery, and 9% in organizing events. On the other hand, the activities that converted to “Eitimad” from commercial licenses in the fields of fashion, organization of events and parties, perfume industry hit rates of 26% 16%, and 16%, respectively.
Commenting on this data, HE Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, stated that SEDD pays great attention to such sector due to the wise directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whom calls for supporting young citizens to join the market and conduct economic work. Such directives also aimed to support their work, initiatives and ideas so that they will become successful ones. All of this is to attain the economic welfare and sustainability in Sharjah.
Likely, HE said that “Eitimad” license attaches importance to organizing domestic business activities, activating the contribution of citizens in the economic sector, and supporting their ideas and initiatives to invest in private projects. His Excellency added that it contributes to opening new areas and roles for the citizens of the Emirate. In addition, it help in encouraging them to innovate and develop skills, guarantee the intellectual and economic rights of the owners of projects and provide support to upgrade the commercial and promotional level of activity.
From her side, Amal Jassim Habash, Deputy Director of Commercial Affairs Department at SEDD, emphasized that “Eitimad” license provides special privileges for its owners, including holding annual exhibitions for them, providing educational courses and training services, incubating, developing and following projects, promoting and marketing small and medium enterprises, and supporting member projects to obtain the franchise.
Also, she pointed out that “Eitimad” license preserves the rights of merchants and their trade names. Likely it preserves goods, products and services that it owners provide within a formal framework that can avoid fraud, imitation of name, logo and exclusive products of certain projects with qualitative ideas. Such thing helps in giving this license commercial excellence, which are distinctive commercial service for traders as a legal commercial license issued by a symbolic fee to any citizen residing in the Emirate of Sharjah.
